About Kathryn

Kathryn Destin was born and raised in Harlem, NY and is currently a senior at the Academy of Mount St. Ursula. She first decided to join the Girls Write Now family because of her combined love of writing and digital media. In her spare time, besides writing, Kathryn loves to read, especially mysteries.  She also enjoys photography, black and white films, and YouTube. Kathryn has been recognized for being an imaginative and creative writer and looks forward to seeing what she will create beyond Girls Write Now!

About ewa

Ewa Lyczewska is a multimedia storyteller with experience in print and web. A published author in magazines, newspapers and online, Ewa also tells stories through photo, audio and video. After attending the 2015 Girls Write Now Awards and getting to know some of mentors and mentees, Ewa knew she wanted to be part of GWN community. Her hopes for this year are to help her mentee Kathryn find her unique voice, and for both of hem to finesse their craft.  

Ewa graduated with MA in Journalism with Distinction from DePaul University in 2012 and was a recipient of Scholarship for Continued Academic Achievement in the Journalism program during both of her years at DePaul. In 2006 Ewa graduated with BS in Physics from University of Illinois at Chicago.
